My Notebook

I have a notebook, It is usually always with me. It is a habit I started about 8 years ago when I was first separated from the wasband. When I am frustrated or upset about something I usually need to take a time out or I end up lashing out and saying things I don't mean and regretting later. So instead I write. I write letters to the offender or the "thing" that at the moment was causing me so much inner turmoil.  It worked really well with the wasband because I could cuss him out and say anything I wanted with out the mess to clean up later. The biggest plus was that it was then out of my head, and I could continue on with things with out it constantly nagging at my mind. I had quite a few notebooks dedicated to him.

As things calmed down I wrote less and less. But lately I have started to take up the habit again not for any one particular reason or person but mainly for my sanity. I started blogging and it took the place of notebooks I think. But now I don't blog much anymore so back to the notebooks I go.

The advantage of the notebook over the blog is you have more control over who sees what you write. I'm a firm believer in writing out your frustrations then if it is really important to talk to that person you have a better idea of how to say what you want to say.

If it helps you then I say "write away." Love you!

I find that I have to do a similar thing. Both to vent about something-or-other and to maintain my sanity. It's a great idea and I'm glad you have an outlet for your moments of insanity. Hopefully that respite will hold for a long time. :)

I'm with Chastina. Good idea with the notebook. My problem is when I'm frustrated I can't write fast enough. Might have something to do with me pressing so hard with the pen/pencil too. :D
