So last night I applied for 2 jobs at UVRMC. I was very surprised this morning to receive a phone call telling me that they wanted me to come in on Monday for a group interview and that I would need to come prepared with a 3 minute presentation on anything I choose. I have done a few group interviews, but never with a presentation. Talking with my Dad he said that they want to see how well I can express and communicate something. He also said that they want to see that I have passion for something. Both my parents suggested that I do my presentation on Photography. While I do have a Passion for it i don't know how to effectively communicate it in 3 minutes. So now I am going to be stressing the whole weekend trying to figure out what to do for my presentation.
any suggestions or helpful hints?

My 2 cents- do it on photography. Pick a favorite picture you have taken and describe what it is you can learn from the picture. Not the technicals of the photography, but the technicals of the subject. I think it will help show your ability to notice details - a good thing for a nurse!
I know I have never commented on your blog and you don't know me very well, but work in HR and have done hiring.(just to qualify myself) Pick something in NURSING. Something that has really caught your attention in your classes, Asthma, Infection Prevention, Arthrits etc... But Take the Nursing concept and bring it back to you, how can you care for someone with these issues, how you have cared for someone in the past, or why you want work as a nurse and why you want to work for them (Your goals are in line with there company goals). They are giving you a 3 min opportunity to tell them why you are they best in the group for the job. Show and Tell them you ARE a Nurse and the BEST Nurse. Don't waste it!
I agree with that Tiffany said. Although you love photography I'm thinking you should do something in the field of the job you're applying for. You should have passion for the job you want right? Show your passion for being a nurse and why you chose to be a nurse. How you're a nurse in your own right at home with your children. How your communication skills are...etc. Basically it's a resume that you're giving verbally :) and in an intresting...stand out way...
Thank you. I have been bumping heads with alot of people trying to figure out what to do for this. and I was thinking I should do something to do with the field, I just didn't know what. Now I do..
Thanks again!
so... how'd it go?
